Ever since Mary Shelley’s seminal Frankenstein, science fiction has been responding to modern science, reflecting its progress and challenges and raising questions about its social impacts. Sci-fi has always been quick to follow the zeitgeist, seemingly predicting various discoveries and their societal consequences, asking important questions before policy-makers do, and addressing scientific challenges.
